Early Friday morning, three burglars broke into a lawnmower business in North Miami Beach in a rather unconventional way.
Using a chain attached to their car, the crooks ripped the door to Bob’s Lawnmower Sales and Service, located at 15270 West Dixie Highway, right off the hinges. Once inside, they left with over $10,000 worth of items as well as a cash register.
"I'm like in shock over the door,” owner Mary Summey said. "They knew exactly what they wanted."
Summey’s alarm company notified her that the store had been broken into. By the time she turned on her surveillance equipment from home, the men had left and so had some products.
The co-owner of the store said that outdoor lawn equipment is some of the top stolen items in South Florida, with lawn companies having to replace items routinely after they are stolen.
The three men had their full bodies covered with black clothing and masks. Anyone with information is asked to contact North Miami Beach Police or Miami-Dade CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
